Natalie's career path has not been linear. She has worked in different places with a vast range of people and clients, designing across project types, learning and exploring along the way. She has delivered projects on time and on budget, with results her clients love, always prioritizing listening, collaborating, and looking out for her clients’ best interests. Whether working on a private home or a hotel, there is always a story to tell through interior design, and Natalie aims to tell it in a way that aligns both creatively and practically.

While Natalie calls the Pacific Northwest home, she was raised in New England and upstate New York. Whenever her family relocated to a new (always old or historical) house, Natalie's mother would paint and re-wallpaper every room, often sewing coordinating window treatments, all before DIY was a thing. Growing up in this environment, with a father who was an architect, taught Natalie early on how much interiors matter and how a single change could make a space feel completely different.

For education, Natalie attended Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) for Interior Architecture and Fine Arts, graduating with a bachelor's degree in each. Natalie went on to work in New York City in high-end retail and residential interior design at what is now known as Groves & Co. Later, she moved to the Hamptons, where she gained hands-on experience in new-build and renovation projects for high-net-worth clients' vacation homes. During her time there, she launched an interior design firm with artist, textile designer, and luxury home goods retailer Elizabeth Dow.

When her family migrated back to the West Coast, Natalie went too, landing an interior design role in Seattle. There, she carried on her work in high-end residential design while launching into hospitality for boutique hotels. That work continued at Susan Marinello Interiors, where she took on luxury high-rise properties, boutique hotels and dining experiences, and private homes. By 2026, Natalie was in a leadership role at a large design firm, having worked on multiple hospitality, bar and restaurant, and multi-family properties.

That same throughline now shapes every project at Fayemor Studio, the practice Natalie founded to bring this full range of experience to her own clients.

Natalie believes there are three important phases that don't land on a timeline. The first is the trust gained at the start of a project, between the client and the design team. The second is the experience and journey of working together to create something unique and custom. The third is the big reveal and move-in, when the client is finally able to live, stay, dine, play, and connect with friends and family in the space.

If the spaces we design bring our clients joy, we have succeeded. Bonus points if fun was had along the way.

Over the years, Natalie's work has been featured in Interior Design, The New York Times, Dwell, and HAMPTONS. Her projects have won accolades with IIDA, Condé Nast Traveler, and ASID.
