There are barstools lined up at the counter, and dining tables with chairs in the background. The ambiance is warm and inviting with soft lighting and large windows showing a garden outside.

Already a prime destination, the new bar offers spectacular views of the Snoqualmie Waterfall, never experienced in the same way before.

The Salish Lodge & Spa has a rich history dating back to 1916, when it first opened as an 8-room lodge. It's steeped in tradition and has been enjoyed for generations.

When designing the new bar, which would occupy an underutilized meeting room complete with a fireplace, the character had to align with the brand and the Lodge as it stands today. Certain elements were selected to remain part of the space, such as the wood beams and custom hand-blown glass chandelier. Natural materials, inspired by the neighboring falls, are placed where guests can experience them firsthand, such as the bar countertop's natural dark gray granite with a textured finish. The Terrace Bar reads rich and moody, with a prime position above the waterfall. The terrace, adjacent to the bar and encased in operable glass, invites guests to sit surrounded by natural light, with an epic view of the powerful Snoqualmie Waterfall below.

Using the same visual vocabulary but with a brighter approach, the renovated restaurant focuses all guest sightlines toward the view. Raised, circular banquettes were designed to maximize views, even from the back half of the dining area. The new footprint allows for more streamlined service and a better guest experience.

As with the Lodge itself, the Terrace Bar & Restaurant are operated by Columbia Hospitality, and the property is owned by the Snoqualmie Tribe.
